Netherton Community Garden
The Netherton Community Garden is a project that has developed wasteland in the heart of Netherton into a green space providing growing space and areas for the community to come together.
Through funding from the National Lottery Communities Fund we are now embarking on a five-year project to help and support local people to create a sustainable local environment and the promote community cohesion.
The vision is to develop a green space in the heart of Netherton that will fulfil its broad mission namely:
1. Helping the community of Netherton to meet the growing need to become more environmentally sustainable.
2. Providing a shared green site for community engagement and entertainment.
3. Supporting individuals and families in Netherton to embrace healthier lifestyles.
WINTER 2023-24
Until spring the Community Garden is open two days a week (Monday and Thursday, 10-2). This will increase in spring and summer.
The garden also currently provides a Rubbish Art course in the Feelgood Factory on Wednesdays.
As the year progresses the garden will need more volunteers to develop its mission. Volunteering is not just restricted to gardening so if you want to get involved contact Martin Brecknock on 0151 291 8010 for a chat.
